Socialized musically in boys' choirs and school orchestras, I had a horizon-opening musical awakening experience as a teenager when I attended the German premiere of Phil Glass' "the CIVILwarS." Although I was already familiar with Poulenc's great choral works and, in particular, Mahler's third symphony, this visit to the opera opened up a broader view of music for me which placed art and culture as well as the contemporary world of life in a common framework. After discontinuing my studies of mathematics and chemistry at the University of Würzburg, I switched to the subjects of musicology and economics. Following the focus of the institute there, my interest was in pre-modern music and complementarily the early atonal phase of the Second Viennese School. Nevertheless, at the end of my studies I found myself in the editing project “Richard Wagner Writings”, immersing myself in his texts on music and all kinds of politics and in (auto-)biographical testimonies of the “master’s” life. I joined Ophelias Culture PR in 2018, initially as a volunteer, and became a permanent PR manager in 2019. Colleagues say they benefit not only from my extensive musicological knowledge, but also from my quick technical grasp and holistic mindset, which keeps us innovating and evolving.
Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos”, Terterjan’s “Das Beben“, Britten’s „A midsummer night’s dream“ and Janáčeks „Věc Makropulos“ were my first musical milestones. Several years as a Blue Lady in the admission service of the Gasteig in Munich and Zender’s “Winterreise” in the Abitur led to studies in dramaturgy for musical theater, musicology and oriental studies at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding. I combined my enthusiasm for opera and politics in my diploma thesis on political music theater in the 20th and early 21st century. For many years I worked in PR, marketing and as a dramaturge at theaters in Augsburg, Munich and Wuppertal as well as in event and concert management. Since 2017, I have been PR manager at Ophelias Culture PR and my work focuses on opera and singing. Being an organizational talent, I keep the threats between agency and clients together and structure the office. I am an all-weather cyclist, bookworm and active in local politics.
Classical music and culture are my passions. Conveying these is a matter close to my heart. It was already important to me as a music dramaturge at various German theaters and later as a product manager in the record industry. Therefore, it was just a small step to found my own communications agency, as I did in the millennium year 2000. Being able to work in a small team of specialist colleagues at eye level is important to me since this is the only possible way for me, as head, to be involved in each of our projects with advice and ideas. Even in my private life, a lot revolves around culture: in addition to theater, concert halls and opera houses, I experience supreme relaxation in art exhibitions. I studied musicology, theater studies and history at the Freie Universität Berlin and Ludwig-Maximilians Universität. Even today it helps me a lot to look at current things and conditions from a historical perspective.
