International Handel-Festival Göttingen 2009
Founded in 1920, the International Handel-Festival Göttingen has been setting standards in history of music as the oldest festival for Early Music worldwide. In the commemoration year of the great composer Georg Friedrich Händel the festival takes place from Mai 22nd – June 3rd 2009 with the motto “Händel – Fascination & Inspiration”. The most important production is the opera “Orlando” staged by Doris Dörrie. Another highlight is the world premiere of Händel’s “Dettinger Te Deum” in an arrangement by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
