New London Symphony Orchestra releases
The London Symphony Orchestra collaborated with Sir John Eliot Gardiner and the first guest conductor Gianandrea Noseda for the two important releases this fall. Shostakovich's Symphony No. 4 with the LSO under Gianandrea Noseda has been out on album since early October. Also released in Germany on October 4 was the LSO's new Schumann album with Sir John Eliot Gardiner who is particularly fond of the composer: “Every opportunity to perform the Schumann symphonies is an opportunity to marvel at their extraordinary wealth of ideas and poetic expression and to explore their kaleidoscopic originality”.
As part of the extensive “Russian Roots” series, the London Symphony Orchestra and Gianandrea Noseda will showcase music by Russian composers and take it on tour. In October and November, London's Barbican Hall will host this series before they make guest appearances in Cologne, Dortmund, Frankfurt and Munich from November 30 to December 3 as part of a German tour. The concert in Frankfurt will be part of the series “Focus London Symphony Orchestra” at the Alte Oper Frankfurt, as will a concert with Sir John Eliot Gardiner on October 28.
