Beethoven bewegt BR-KLASSIK
2020 will see major celebrations of Ludwig van Beethoven's 250th anniversary. The Bavarian Radio will also join the congratulatory choir and honour the bold innovator with the year long project, “Beethoven bewegt (inspires) BR-KLASSIK”. This will feature a number of exciting events and new media content aimed at both classical music experts and those who aspire to be.
A wide variety of formats constitute a part of this extensive Beethoven discovery tour: In “Alexander entdeckt (discovers) Beethoven”, celebrity chef, Alexander Hermann, explores his passion for classical music; in the podcast “32 x Beethoven”, Igor Levit and his long-time friend Anselm Cybinski examine all of Beethoven's piano sonatas and in the process, offer insights into the composer; pianist Sophie Pacini performs six house concerts – this way, Beethoven is able to make six visits to people at home. Under the patronage of Anne-Sophie Mutter, a creativity competition for children will take place as will a journey in Beethoven's footsteps under the title “Beethoven On Tour” and several additional musical highlights in the radio and television program of BR-KLASSIK and on its online channels.
“Beethoven bewegt BR-KLASSIK” extends a year-long invitation to anyone who wishes to gain new and surprising insights into the composer Beethoven and his wonderful works.
