For the opening of the Offenbach Year 2019, the Palazzetto Bru Zane extended an invitation in January to Parisian Théâtre Marigny and to “Les P'tites Michu” in Reims as well. A very comical production of two one-act plays by Offenbach and Hervé had the audience in stitches.
In 2019 the Queen Sonja International Music Competition will take place in Oslo 13–23 August. The next round of applications will begin 15 February 2019, with a deadline of 1 April 2019. The competition is open for young singers (upper age limit is 32 years) from all over the world.

The 2019 international Ernst von Siemens Music Prize will be awarded to the British composer Rebecca Saunders. The award, given for lifelong service to music, is accompanied by a prize of €250,000. The presentation ceremony will be held on 7 June 2019 at the Prinzregententheater in Munich.
