The Palazzetto Bru Zane — Centre de musique romantique française explores the music of the French Romantic period. Since its foundation in 2009, it has significantly expanded the repertoire of this eventful period in the 19th century. Ophelia’s Culture PR has been supporting the Palazzetto Bru Zane Foundation in German-speaking countries since 2012. The combination of research, editorial work and performance practice has become a prime example of applied musicology. The privately funded institution owes its name to its location — a 17th century Venetian palace — and its patron Nicole Bru.
The three annual festivals of the “Palazzetto” in Venice and Paris are the beacons at which key themes such as composer anniversaries as well as sociological and historical aspects of music are highlighted. In recent years, the focus has been on the multifaceted genre of operetta with the work of Jacques Offenbach and his contemporaries, music against the backdrop of the First World War, Napoleon and music, but also the rediscovery of numerous unknown female composers. Ophelia’s Culture PR organizes press trips and launches reviews of the recordings of the in-house label. These regularly receive international awards.
The Palazzetto Bru Zane is an indispensable guardian and ambassador of the French Romantic music repertoire — a place that preserves history and at the same time brings it to life by opening up new perspectives on Romanticism and providing a stage for lively interpretations of this music.
