Clas­sic­al music in a unique atmo­sphere, with top-class musi­cians, on one of the most mag­ni­fi­cent squares in Europe — that is the suc­cess story of Klassik am Odeonsplatz. Since it was foun­ded in 2000, the open-air event has attrac­ted around 16,000 music fans and prom­in­ent guests from all over the world every year and has estab­lished itself as a firm high­light of Munich’s cul­tur­al life.

On a week­end in July, the Bav­ari­an Radio Sym­phony Orches­tra and the Munich Phil­har­mon­ic Orches­tra join forces with inter­na­tion­ally renowned clas­sic­al artists to present an extraordin­ary con­cert exper­i­ence in the impress­ive set­ting of Munich’s Feld­her­rnhalle.

The event reg­u­larly sets new cov­er­age records for (live) broad­casts and is now a prime­time TV event. The stars who per­form at Klassik am Odeonsplatz include Lang Lang, Sol Gabetta, Juan Diego Flórez, Mar­tin Gru­binger, Diana Dam­rau, Daniel Tri­fonov, Chris­ti­an Thiele­mann, Yan­nick Néz­et-Séguin and Andris Nel­sons.
