Ensem­ble Modern is one of the most renow­ned ensem­bles for con­tem­po­ra­ry music world­wi­de. Foun­ded in 1980 and based in Frank­furt am Main, the ensem­ble is curr­ent­ly shaped by 18 soloists who lead the acti­vi­ties of this demo­cra­ti­cal­ly orga­ni­zed coll­ec­ti­ve. The aes­the­tic ran­ge of Ensem­ble Modern encom­pas­ses music and dance theat­re gen­res, mul­ti­me­dia forms, as well as cham­ber music, ensem­ble, and orches­tra con­certs. Every year, the ensem­ble pre­mie­res appro­xi­m­ate­ly 70 com­po­si­ti­ons, inclu­ding around 20 world pre­mie­res, some of which it com­mis­si­ons its­elf. The com­mis­sio­ned works also include lar­ge-sca­le pie­ces crea­ted for the expan­ded Ensem­ble Modern Orches­tra, which has grown to orches­tral size.

Ensem­ble Modern per­forms at the most pres­ti­gious fes­ti­vals around the world. In its home city of Frank­furt, the ensem­ble per­forms in its own sub­scrip­ti­on series at the Alte Oper Frank­furt and regu­lar­ly col­la­bo­ra­tes with the Oper Frank­furt on music theat­re pro­duc­tions, as well as the legen­da­ry Hap­py New Ears con­cert series sin­ce 1993.

In 2000, it foun­ded its own label, Ensem­ble Modern Medi­en, and has released num­e­rous pro­duc­tions, often in col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with Ger­man public broad­cas­ters. Other albums have been released with estab­lished labels, inclu­ding col leg­no, ECM Records, NEOS Music, Sony Music, and Wergo. In 2003, Ensem­ble Modern estab­lished the Inter­na­tio­nal Ensem­ble Modern Aca­de­my (IEMA).

In 2024, Ensem­ble Modern was award­ed the Sil­ver Lion at the Bien­na­le Musi­ca di Vene­zia.
Ophe­li­as Cul­tu­re PR con­tri­bu­tes to the enhan­ced visi­bi­li­ty of Ensem­ble Modern through regio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal PR and press work. The agen­cy advi­ses the ensem­ble on PR stra­te­gies and sup­ports album pro­mo­ti­on. For sel­ec­ted pro­jects, ope­ra pro­duc­tions, and inter­na­tio­nal guest per­for­man­ces, Ophe­li­as Cul­tu­re PR initia­tes press cam­paigns with a focus on regio­nal media.
