Basel Sin­fo­ni­et­ta is a sym­pho­nic orches­tra spe­cia­li­zing in con­tem­po­ra­ry music – making it a uni­que ensem­ble world­wi­de. Dri­ven by the goal of per­forming music that is in tune with the times, Basel Sin­fo­ni­et­ta has been brea­king clas­si­cal con­cert con­ven­ti­ons sin­ce its foun­ding in 1980, explo­ring various gen­res and cul­tures in its pro­grams. The Basel-based ensem­ble col­la­bo­ra­tes with lea­ding com­po­sers of today. Num­e­rous works have been com­mis­sio­ned, and sin­ce its foun­ding, more than 240 world pre­mie­res and many Swiss pre­mie­res have been pre­sen­ted.

As a self-gover­ning orches­tra, all musi­ci­ans con­tri­bu­te to the rea­liza­ti­on of excep­tio­nal pro­grams that have no place in the regu­lar cul­tu­ral sce­ne. The Prin­ci­pal Con­duc­tor of Basel Sin­fo­ni­et­ta is Titus Engel.

Incre­asing­ly, the orches­tra is also per­forming inter­na­tio­nal­ly, in addi­ti­on to its six sub­scrip­ti­on con­certs, inclu­ding at the NOW! Fes­ti­val in Essen, the Wit­te­ner Tage für Neue Kam­mer­mu­sik, the Colo­gne Phil­har­mo­nie, and the Elb­phil­har­mo­nie Ham­burg in the upco­ming sea­son. Recent­ly, Basel Sin­fo­ni­et­ta has been a guest at ACHT BRÜ­CKEN Fes­ti­val in Colo­gne, the Inter­na­tio­nal Music Fes­ti­val Ham­burg, the Musi­ca Fes­ti­val in Stras­bourg, and the War­saw Autumn Fes­ti­val.

In 2020, Ophe­lia’s PR began sup­port­ing Basel Sin­fo­ni­et­ta in deve­lo­ping an inter­na­tio­nal PR stra­tegy and took over regio­nal press work. Sin­ce 2023, we have been respon­si­ble for all com­mu­ni­ca­ti­ons and public rela­ti­ons – from tra­di­tio­nal press work to digi­tal cam­paigns and edi­to­ri­al manage­ment of the web­site and bro­chu­res. We focus stra­te­gi­cal­ly on direct mar­ke­ting stra­te­gies to increase regio­nal con­cert atten­dance. In addi­ti­on to media rela­ti­ons, we deve­lop crea­ti­ve PR con­cepts for album releases and spe­cial pro­jects.
