The Köthen Bach Fest­iv­al is one of three Cent­ral Ger­man music fest­ivals ded­ic­ated to the works of Johann Sebasti­an Bach. It takes place every two years in late sum­mer in his former place of work – where the later Thomaskan­tor worked as Kapell­meister and con­cert­mas­ter from 1717 to 1723.

Since 2016, con­cert design­er Folkert Uhde has been the artist­ic dir­ect­or, giv­ing the tra­di­tion­al fest­iv­al a con­tem­por­ary image. In addi­tion to clas­sic­al con­certs, there are also excit­ing dis­cov­er­ies in a wide vari­ety of formats. The Köthen­er Bach­festtage are now among the most import­ant fest­ivals in Sax­ony-Anhalt.
