Köthener Bach Festival
The Köthen Bach Festival is one of three Central German music festivals dedicated to the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. It takes place every two years in late summer in his former place of work – where the later Thomaskantor worked as Kapellmeister and concertmaster from 1717 to 1723.
Since 2016, concert designer Folkert Uhde has been the artistic director, giving the traditional festival a contemporary image. In addition to classical concerts, there are also exciting discoveries in a wide variety of formats. The Köthener Bachfesttage are now among the most important festivals in Saxony-Anhalt.
Ophelia’s Culture PR has been responsible for the supra-regional press relations for the Köthener Bachfesttage since 2016.
