International Bach Academy Stuttgart

Although Johann Sebastian Bach’s life never took him to Stuttgart, his music is firmly rooted in the state capital of Baden-Württemberg. For industry professionals, the „Stuttgart Bach Style“ is now an established feature. This is largely thanks to the long-standing International Bach Academy Stuttgart. Since 1981, the musical heritage of Johann Sebastian Bach, his contemporaries, predecessors, and successors has been kept alive through events and education, training, and research. Diverse concert formats, innovative music education, and digital offerings such as podcasts and concert streams make the International Bach Academy Stuttgart one of the most important centres for the preservation of Bach’s music.

With »VISION.BACH – Understanding Life with Bach«, the International Bach Academy Stuttgart has embarked on an ambitious cantata project. The original sound ensemble of the Gaechinger Cantorey under Hans-Christoph Rademann performed the complete first Leipzig cantata year of Johann Sebastian Bach in the 2023/24 season. Exactly 300 years after its creation, the sixty cantatas were performed in 23 concerts in churches and concert halls in the Stuttgart region as well as at prominent festivals. Recordings of the cantatas were released in a ten-part CD edition from 2023 to 2026 on the Hänssler Classic label. For this purpose, Ophelias Culture PR developed a social media presence for the project to promote its supra-regional visibility. We also support the International Bach Academy Stuttgart through long-term strategic consultancy, classic PR and press relations.
