Cologne Opera
The Cologne Opera House is one of Germany’s great, long-standing opera houses. Since the 2022/23 season, Intendant Hein Mulders has been in charge of the venue. Grand opera, exciting musical theatre, world-class premieres and the cultivation of classic repertoire works are at the centre of the programme.
Highlights from recent years include, among others, the first Cologne revival of Zimmermann’s „Die Soldaten“ in 2018, and the uncut performance of Hector Berlioz’s‘ The Trojans 2022, Zemlinskys The dwarf for the 100th anniversary of the Cologne premiere in the 1922 combination with Atrawinsky’s Petrushka, Richard Strauss‘ The Woman Without a Shadow 2023 and the world premiere of Ondřej Adámek Ines 2024.
In the 2024/2025 season, Ophelias Culture PR is handling the world premiere of The Last Days of Mankind by Philippe Manoury after Karl Kraus. The adaptation of this work, commissioned by the Cologne Opera, was created by composer Philippe Manoury in collaboration with director Nicolas Stemann and dramaturg Patrick Hahn. The resulting „Thinkspiel“ consists of two large parts for vocal soloists, actors, choir, orchestra, and live electronics. Ophelias Culture PR is providing press and PR consultancy for this project.
