The Baroque Taste
Il Gusto Barocco, founded by conductor, harpsichordist and organist Jörg Halubek, brings together a core group of internationally leading virtuosos of the younger generation. In close connection between research and practice, the ensemble constantly rediscovers old masterpieces and has made a name for itself through world premieres and the rediscovery of forgotten Baroque operas. It can be experienced in its hometown at the self-organised „Stuttgarter Reihe“.
Renowned early music festivals regularly invite il Gusto Barocco, including the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, Bachwoche Ansbach, and Tage Alter Musik in Herne. Since 2016/17, they have been performing a Monteverdi cycle at the National Theatre Mannheim, which will conclude in 2026. In 2025, they will perform at the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival for the first time.
In partnership with SWR and WDR, as well as the CD labels cpo and Berlin Classics, the ensemble has released numerous albums of Baroque rediscoveries and new interpretations, particularly of Bach’s works.
Ophelias Culture PR has been working with il Gusto Barocco and Jörg Halubek since 2019. In addition to PR and press work for releases, self-organised series, and guest appearances, the collaboration also includes strategic consulting on brand development. The increased media presence and growing invitations to renowned festivals demonstrate the growing visibility of the ensemble and maestro al cembalo Jörg Halubek in the public consciousness.
