Classical Music and Culture Services

Your success in the culture and music industry

Our passion is your visibility. As an internationally active communications agency for classical music, culture and the performing arts, we help your ambitions to succeed – whether you are an orchestra, festival, organiser or artist. With over 25 years of experience, we know the challenges facing the cultural and music scene today: digital upheavals, changing user behaviour and dwindling attention spans demand new dramaturgies for a successful presence. In workshops and through continuous dialogue with you, we therefore develop future-proof communication concepts, which we then implement for you. We utilise the entire spectrum – from classic press relations and content management to social media and online marketing.

La Cetra Basel

La Cetra Basel is one of the most distinguished Early Music ensembles in Switzerland and one of the most important in Europe. Founded in 1999 in the environment of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, the ensemble has been passionately pursuing original sound for over 25 years. Under the direction of the celebrated Italian Early Music expert Andrea Marcon, La Cetra Basel unites the Baroque orchestra and, since 2012, also the vocal ensemble.

Concerto Copenhagen

For over thirty years, Concerto Copenhagen (CoCo) has embarked on a musical journey of discovery. Rooted in the early music scene, the Copenhagen-based orchestra continuously expands its repertoire. Described as an „Ensemble for timeless music,“ it has long been not only a master of Baroque music but is equally at home in Viennese Classicism, Romanticism, and contemporary music.

Ferdi Beilhardt

Late Romantic | Opera | PR Manager

It was in upper secondary music classes that I first encountered Mahler’s *Das Lied von der Erde*. This opened up a world to me that I had previously been unaware of. After graduating from secondary school, I studied Philosophy, Literary and Cultural Studies in Munich – with a particular focus on late Romanticism and early Modernism. In my engagement with Kant, Schopenhauer, and Nietzsche, I was always particularly interested in ways of thinking that are inspired by music.

Since 2021, I’ve been part of Ophelia’s Culture PR – initially as an intern, and now as a PR Manager. Here I can combine my passion for music with creative public relations: communicating with journalists and cultural professionals, or developing tailor-made PR concepts. The regular concert and opera visits aren’t just part of the job, they’re a real privilege too.

The portfolio of Ophelia in particular, which includes early music and Baroque operas, has broadened my horizons. I have found points of contact with styles and eras that were largely unknown to me before, and which have once again changed my perspective on music. It is fascinating how these historical sound worlds are brought back to life in the present day – and how surprising connections between different musical traditions can always be discovered.

All the best, Klauser

Early Music | Contemporary | PR Manager

At Ophelia’s Culture PR, I have been managing projects such as Ensemble Modern, Basel Sinfonietta, Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, Bayreuth Baroque Festival, and the activities of Palazzetto Bru Zane as a PR Manager since 2019. My core strength lies in my musicological foundation – particularly in the field of Early Music, as well as from Modern to Contemporary.

This dual perspective also shapes my work: from writing copy for programmes and press releases to developing communication strategies, for example for world premieres, repertoire rarities or interdisciplinary formats. My business studies education strengthens my strategic foresight – especially in matters of cultural marketing, brand identity and target audience engagement.

Musically rooted in a boy choir and with early violin lessons, a performance of Mahler’s Third was a formative experience for me. A real turning point came with the German premiere of Philip Glass’ the CIVIL WARS – a moment that decisively broadened my view of music as a socially impactful art form.

After studying Musicology with a minor in Economics, I joined Ophelia’s Culture PR in 2018 – I stayed because of the substantive depth, the variety of tasks, and the enjoyment of intelligently crafted cultural communication.

Ulrike Wilckens

Networker | Owner | Strategist

Classical music and culture are my passions. Conveying this is a matter close to my heart. This was already important to me as a music dramaturgist at various German theatres and later as a product manager in the record industry. Therefore, it was only a small step to found my own communications agency, as I did in the millennium year 2000. It is important to me to work with specialist colleagues in a small team of equals. Only in this way is it possible for me, as the leader, to be involved with advice and ideas on every one of our projects.

Privately, culture also plays a big part in my life: besides theatres, concert halls and opera houses, I find the utmost relaxation in art exhibitions. I studied Music and Theatre Studies and History at Freie Universität Berlin and Ludwig Maximilian University. Even today, it helps me a great deal to view current events and situations from a historical perspective.
