Known as a sensitive interpreter, the Chinese pianist, Haochen Zhang, has already established himself as a successful artist in Asia and the USA and is well on his way to making a name for himself in Europe.
In 2002, he won the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians as the youngest prizewinner and in 2009, won the prestigious Van Cliburn Competition. Since then the young Chinese musician, who studied with Gary Graffman at the Curtis Institute of Music (Philadelphia), has performed at numerous internationally renowned festivals.
His recording of Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2 and Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 with Sinfonia Lahti will be released by BIS Records in 2019.
