Martin Grubinger
Martin Grubinger is the rising star of the international percussion scene. Since his breakthrough 2006 at the Musikverein in Vienna the young multipercussionist has been acclaimed as a “Marathon Drummer”, “Drumm Pyrotechnist” and “Drumm Genius” by critics as well as devoted laymen. With his wide ranging and constantly on growing repertoire, that goes from African and Cuban to avant-garde, Martin Grubinger sweeps his audience of their feet in the most renowned music centers of the world. The enlargement of the percussion repertoire is his affair of the heart. Thus many top contemporary composers like Anders Koppel, José Sanchez-Verdu, Andreas Aigmüller, Rolf Wallin, Avner Dorman, Friedrich Cerha, John Corigliano, Markus Lehmann-Horn and H.K. Gruber have dedicated him their works. Recently, Martin Grubinger became an exclusive artist for the Deutsche Grammophon. 2011 he will play for the second time at the famous Salzburg Festival and will perform a new world premiere.
