Carl Orff-Festspiele Andechs
The Andechs Abbey has become a “genius loci’” in many ways – as place of pilgrimage, brewery and festival site. The important Bavarian composer Carl Off (1895-1982) had a soft spot for the convent throughout his entire life. When it ended, he there found his resting-place. During the Carl Orff-Festspiele Andechs the musical legacy of this renovator of the Bavarian theatre, this creator of magnificent works of music and this unforgotten teacher comes to a revival every year since 1998.
