Florian Uhlig – that name resounded throughout the land when in spring 2009 the pianist’s new CD recording with Beethoven’s piano variations was released: “This amazingly creative CD is an exceptional case”, (Süddeutsche Zeitung). 2010, the Robert Schumann bicentenary year, marked the beginning of a mammoth project for pianist Florian Uhlig: a complete 15-disc edition of Schumann’s piano solo works. Many of the CDs will feature works which are being recorded for the first time. Moreover, in 2008, the pianist became the Artistic Director of the Johannesburg International Mozart Festival in South Africa, one of the most multicultural countries of the world.
