Antoine Tamestit
Antoine Tamestit is one of the most sought-after violists of the world. With his greatly faceted repertoire from Baroque Music to Contemporary Music he reveals the stunning musical beauty hidden in the viola, this wrongly undervalued instrument. In the season 2009/10 several important engagements are awaiting Antoine Tamestit – starting in Graz with the world premiere of a new concerto for viola by Olga Neuwirth. For the next three years, he will be heard in several concerts at ‘Konzerthaus Dortmund within the framework of the series “Junge Wilde”. Also, Antoine Tamestit is the „Artist in Residence“ 2009/10 of the Konzerthaus Berlin.
