Gesellschaft der Freunde von Bayreuth e.V.
The „Gesellschaft der Freunde von Bayreuth e.V.“ celebrates its 60th birthday on September 22nd 2009. Founded in 1949 by Richard Wagner’s grand children Wieland and Wolfgang together with important entrepreneurs, it played an initial role in the revival of the Bayreuth Festival after the Second World War and has proven to be a reliable partner for the Bayreuth Festival ever since. On September 1st 2008 the non-profit association became an associate of the Bayreuther Festspiele GmbH – alongside the Federal Republic of Germany, the Free State of Bavaria and the city of Bayreuth. OPHELIAS PR is in charge of the PR work for the "Gesellschaft der Freunde von Bayreuth e.V.".
